Brief Description
Worabe Comprehensive Specialized Hospital is a hospital located in Central Ethiopia regional state, Silte zone, Worabe Woreda. The hospital is located 174 km from Addis Ababa and 60 km from center of central Ethiopia region Hossana.
After the foundation stone of the hospital was laid in 1999 by the late FDRE President of Ethiopia, His Excellency Ato Girma Wolde Giorgis, it was built by the contribution of the society and Silte development Association had significant role in mobilization.
The hospital is structured in different specialty and sub-specialty services and has been able to make the service accessible to neighboring zones and regions.
About Psychiatry Department of Worabe Comprehensive Specialized Hospital
The hospital has been providing psychiatric service since the inauguration of the hospital. The department has Adult Outpatient service, adult inpatient services (has around 50 beds), inpatient addiction psychiatry service (8 beds), 24-hour emergency psychiatric care, Child and adolescent’s psychiatry, neuropsychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, outpatient forensic psychiatry, inpatient forensic psychiatry (has 7 beds) and other psychiatric services. We are also planning to start inpatient child and adolescent psychiatry soon.
Regarding the human resource, the department has two psychiatrists, 1 Msc Integrated mental health specialist, 14 BSC psychiatry professionals, 1 General Practitioner, 2 Psychologist, Bsc and clinical nurses and other supportive professionals.
