Asheten Psychiatry & Rehabilitation Specialty Clinic is a private mental health facility
established by Asheten Health Services Trading P.L.C. Licensed by the Lemikura Subcity
Food, Medicine and Healthcare Administration and Control Authority in January 2023, our
clinic offers high-quality, evidence-based psychiatric, psychotherapy, and rehabilitation services.
The clinic is led by Dr. Dereje Assefa, a Senior Psychiatrist and Public Health expert with
extensive experience in mental health clinical services, training, and national mental health
program leadership. Dr. Dereje has significantly contributed to national mental health policies,
including the Health Sector Transformation Plan II (HSTP II) and the National Mental
Health Strategy II, which prioritized mental health services within Ethiopia’s broader healthcare framework.
Our facility provides a therapeutic environment with spacious, clean, and green buildings
designed for optimal care. We operate with a dedicated team of professionals, including
psychiatrists, psychotherapists, rehabilitation specialists, and support staff, ensuring
comprehensive care for our patients.

Our Facility
Our clinic is located on a spacious 1,000 m² compound, designed to create a therapeutic
environment for our patients. The facility includes:
- Emergency Tranquilization Unit
- Outpatient Units
- Inpatient Units
- Rehabilitation Units
- Psychotherapy Units
Emergency Services:
Our emergency units are equipped with the necessary tools and materials to manage both
psychiatric and general medical emergencies. Patients with psychiatric conditions receive
immediate intervention and, if necessary, admission to secure emergency wards.
Outpatient Services:
We provide outpatient services across three units for individuals with psychiatric needs,
including those requiring psychotherapy. We monitor both physical and mental health status regularly and ensure a multidisciplinary approach to care.
Inpatient Services:
Our inpatient facility features 40 beds in spacious rooms, offering round-the-clock care. We
provide comprehensive monitoring; clinical visits, and treatment plans, ensuring patients’ dignity and rights are always respected.
Rehabilitation Services:
Our rehabilitation unit includes facilities for yoga, music, and art therapy. Sessions are conducted twice weekly for each therapy type. The unit can accommodate over 40 individuals.
Psychotherapy Services:
We offer a range of psychotherapeutic interventions in dedicated units. Patients are scheduled for regular therapy sessions, both inpatient and outpatient.
